One day last week, my almost-three-year-old got out the crayons and made a mess of them - all over the bathroom floor. He was in there keeping his brother company while his brother sat on the toilet singing songs. Anyway….
Since the crayons were a mess we decided to make them in to new ones. Here is how we did it.
First I preheated the toaster oven to 250 degrees. Second we made sure all of the paper labels were off every single crayon. Then we put the crayons in plastic baggies and beat the baggies with wooden spoons until all of the crayons were broken in to little pieces.
After that we lined cupcake trays with parchment paper/tin foil. (Regular cupcake liners work better, but I didn’t have any).
Putting the broken crayon pieces into each cupcake mold was the next step.
We baked them in the oven until they all melted together. I didn’t time it, but it was less than 20 minutes. They cooled off in the molds. After they had cooled off a little I put them in the fridge.
After they had hardened we peeled the liners off of them…
